JP Steynberg
JP was born and raised on a farm in the Graaff-Reinet district. After matriculating at Hoër Volkskool in Graaff-Reinet he left for the airforce. There after he started farming on "Spring Grove". In 1996 he sold the farm to "Mount Camdeboo" , a reserve now operating as a lodge.
He then bought Ganora Farm bordering Nieu-Bethesda. Here he farms with a Dohne Merino stud and some cattle. He started a guest farm with his wife soon after moving to the farm.
Since the age of 7 years old, he has had an interest in fossils. History in many forms has always interested him too. The best part is that he could fulfill his dream as he started discovering so many fossils and history on the farm. He now has his own private registered Fossil and Bushman artifact Museum where he does talks on the subjects regularly for tourists passing through.
He also renovates old houses for clients buying homes or wants new homes built in and around Nieu Bethesda.
As he is a farmer himself he knows the veld conditions very well for this Karoo/Camdeboo area.
