Well known Guest Farm Close to Riversdale, Western Cape
Kweekkraal is a well known Guest Farm, situated 8.2km west of Riversdale right at the gateway to the Garden Route on the Southern Coast of Africa.
The farm forms part of a conservation area. The main house is of historic significance and was built in 1880.
This is a working farm, where sheep and cattle are grazed on cultivated Oats and Lucerne pastures. Other grain crops produced are Canola, Wheat and Barley and part of it is also been run as a Guest Farm.
The accommodation on the farm consists of the main farm house that was renovated and is now been used as reception, bar facilities and a dining room for breakfasts or any other meals as per guest request and nine guest units which have recently been lovingly renovated and equipped by the farm owners and the current tenant operates this part of the farm as a hospitality business that grown into a very popular destination for local guests, as well as guests from other parts of South Africa and overseas.
Five of the units/cottages have two bedrooms and all of them overlook a farm dam with a backdrop of Eucalyptus trees and grain fields. They each have a bedroom with a double bed, another bedroom with two single beds, a bathroom with shower, a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge /dining area and a patio with a barbeque facility.
The other three one bedroom units/cottages are situated around the swimming pool and barbeque area, near the main house. One cottage has a double bed and one has two single beds. The third cottage is furnished with a King size bed and also used as Honeymoon suite. They all have fully equipped kitchens and an en-suite bathroom with a shower (no baths).
There is also a rustic stone cottage bound to lift your spirit and revive your senses. Power is supplied by solar and gas. Up to eight guests can sleep in this unit. Two bedrooms each have a double bed and two single beds (bunk beds). One bathroom with shower (no bath), fully equipped open plan lounge/kitchen area, with a huge indoor barbeque/fireplace. A wooden deck provides a fine view of the dam and surrounding indigenous bush which abounds with bustling bird life.
Currently the Guesthouse offer braai packs (home grown quality meat), sandwiches for the coals, fresh garden salads, wood and soft drinks. Their liquor licence allows them to sell all liquor to their guests.
Conferencing is offered at the conference centre for about 95 delegates.
A fully equipped wedding venue that can host up to 250 guests, is available on site.

The main source of water for house hold and animal consumption is from the Korente/Vetterivier water scheme. There are also 9 big earth dams located all over the farm.
